H HiveTech

First 30 minutes

This is your first time on HiveGrid. Don’t try to build a nuclear power plant right away. A huge factory or deal with all the mods.

The first challenge is to create a small, stable base. Collect resources and prepare for industrial development.

1. Find a place to base.

It's good if there are:

  • trees;
  • water;
  • animals and other food sources;
  • mine-place;
  • Free territory under future arrangements.

Do not build the first base too compact. Later you will need space for cars, pipes, cables, storage and automation.

2. Start with your usual survival.

  1. Get the tree.
  2. Make the basic tools.
  3. Get some food.
  4. Make a bed if possible.
  5. Start mining stone, coal and iron.

Iron will need much more than in conventional Minecraft. So do not limit yourself to a few bars.

3. Don't waste resources.

At the start, it is desirable to save:

  • iron;
  • copper;
  • tin
  • gold;
  • redstone;
  • Lapis lapis;
  • diamonds;
  • coal;
  • quartz
  • Rare mod materials.

If an object seems useless, look through JEI first. where it applies.

4. Master JEI.

JEI is one of the main tools in the assembly. There is no need to remember hundreds of recipes.

Through JEI you can find an object, see its recipe. See what recipes it is used in.

If the Wiki recipe doesn't match the game, Focus on JEI.

5. Set up storage.

Regular boxes will not be enough soon enough.

  • Iron Chests - enlarged chests.
  • Storage Drawers Convenient for a large number of the same resources.

Applied Energistics 2 will be available later. There is no need to build a full ME network at the beginning.

6. Prepare for industry

Before moving to machines, it is desirable to have:

  • stable food supply;
  • refuge;
  • iron tools;
  • coal;
  • iron and non-ferrous metals.

As the first clear technical branch, we recommend IndustrialCraft 2.

Do not try to learn IC2 and Thermal Expansion at the same time. Immersive Engineering, BuildCraft and Industrial Foregoing.

Where to go.

Survival → Resources → Energy → Recycling Automation, bees and genetics.
